Need help with periodic reporting to CAT? See CTI’s new tool

CTI has today released the third tool in its series of UNCAT Implementation Tools, focusing on periodic reporting, and follow-up, to the UN Committee against Torture.

Reporting to the committee against torture

Through the constructive dialogue with the Committee, the Committee’s role is two-fold: to acknowledge positive action to implement the Convention and to provide informed advice on areas where further reforms are recommended. The dialogue and any resulting recommendations can support efforts by States to review, adjust or confirm their national laws, policies and practices, or to develop or update national anti-torture strategies and action plans.

CTI is grateful to the University of Bristol’s Human Rights Implementation Centre for preparing the document for the CTI.

CTI’s series of UNCAT Implementation Tools are available here.
