OSCE-CTI workshop report recommends action on rehabilitation

Vienna, Austria, 12 October 2016 – The CTI and the Government of Denmark partnered with the German Chairmanship of the OSCE, as well as the OSCE’s Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, on a workshop held in Vienna on 12 October 2016 to explore the current and potential role of the OSCE in assisting participating States to implement their obligation to provide rehabilitation to victims of torture and other ill-treatment.

The workshop was an immediate next step following the CTI’s Regional Event on Rehabilitation for Victims of Torture in OSCE Participating States, held in June 2016 in Copenhagen, Denmark, where Governments shared good practices and discussed challenges with regard to implementation of the right to rehabilitation, together with practitioners and experts.

The event report, available here, makes a number of recommendations for further action.
