States parties to the UNCAT elect five members to UN Committee against Torture

Geneva, 8 October – 14 candidates for five open seats in the UN Committee against Torture resulted in the re-election of one and the election of four brand new members.

At the 15th meeting of States parties to the UN Convention against Torture taking place on 8 October in Geneva, Felice Gaer (USA) was re-elected as Committee member, while Abdelwahab Hani (Tunisia), Claude Heller Rouassant (Mexico), Ana Racu (Moldova), and  Mr. Sébastien Touzé (France) were all elected as first time members. The CTI congratulate all five on their election.
