Police Resource Toolkit now available in French & Spanish

Today, the Convention against Torture Initiative (CTI) releases the French and Spanish-language versions of the Police Resource Toolkit resource notes on Arrest, Stop and Search and Safeguards in police custody.

Launched in May 2022 at an online event held in partnership with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) during the 31st session of the United Nations Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ), the Police Resource Toolkit seeks to provide police officers and law enforcement officials, lawmakers, policy-makers and those charged with developing and reforming national laws, policies, programmes and practices with international and regional standards for professional, human rights-compliant and gender-sensitive police services, offering examples of promising State practices from across regions and providing international instruments, guidelines, resources and practical tools.

The English versions of the Resource notes on Stop and Search, Arrest, and Safeguards in police custody were released at the Police Resource Toolkit’s launch event in May 2022.

As of 2023, the Police Resource Toolkit has French and Spanish-language separate webpages where you can consult the thematic resource notes. CTI will be gradually updating such pages as additional resource notes become available throughout 2023 and 2024.
